Artisanal Preserves

Vista D’oro Farms has created a seasonal line of Artisanal Preserves using traditional cooking methods combined with distinctive flavour pairings. Our preserves are produced in copper pots and we use only in-season fruits, much of which is grown on our farm. Whether served on a cheese board or alongside fresh baked scones or hot buttered toast; our preserves are truly versatile, simply delicious and always seasonal! Serve as a decadent crepe filling, try them as an accompaniment for roast pork or simply enjoy them straight out of the jar!

Winter Line 2008
  • Turkish Fig with Walnut Wine – Using walnut wine produced on our farm; Excellent with pork tenderloin or blue cheese.
  • Pink Grapefruit with Champagne - A fabulous pretty pink treat for Sunday brunch or afternoon high tea.
  • Orange Cardamom & Brandy - A warm blend of citrus and spice, perfect for crepes and a lovely treat with duck.
  • Citrus & Candied Ginger - An Asian inspired marmalade heavenly over vanilla pound cake or simply on buttered toast.
  • Kumquat with Vanilla Vodka - No this is not a martini! But you’ll want to eat it by the spoonful or spooned over Vanilla Ice cream.
Spring Line 2008
  • Rhubarb & Vanilla - A lovely pairing wonderful with ice-cream, scones or pound cake.
  • Strawberry & Grand Marnier - A classic combination perfect for Sunday brunch or afternoon high tea or straight out of the jar!
  • Strawberry with Balsamic & Pink Peppercorns - An elegant pairing for soft goat cheese or use in a vinaigrette over wild greens.
  • Raspberry & Merlot w/ Peppercorns – Great with strong cheese or to finish a rich chocolate dessert with something special.
  • Blueberry & Bourbon - Delicious over vanilla ice-cream and perfect for a ‘morning after’ breakfast!
  • Green Walnut & Grappa – A decadent mix lovely on a cheese board.
Summer Line 2008
  • Plum with Vanilla & Star Anise - Excellent on buttered toast or with grilled chicken.
  • Black Cherry & Pinot Noir - Wonderful with a savory cheese scone or alongside grilled duck.
  • Wild Blackberry - Nothing but blackberries and sugar, why mess with perfection?! Spoon into tart shells for a simple dessert.
  • Peach & Lemon Verbena with Champagne - Elegant enough for the fanciest tea parties, simple serve along side lemon pound cake.
  • Peach & Blackberry Duo with Cassis – Serve over homemade peach ice-cream for the ultimate summer dessert!
  • Apricot Tarragon & Riesling - Lovely served with vanilla yogurt & granola for a decadent brunch treat.
Fall Line 2008
  • Caramel Apple with Dark Rum – A lovely compliment to pork tenderloin, or warm up and serve over ice cream.
  • Spiced Apple & Gewurztraminer - Perfect for your turkey dinner! Just the right amount of spice and sweetness.
  • Pear & Pinot Noir – Excellent with creamy camembert and crackers.
  • Pear & Vanilla - One of my first and favorites! Lovely on crepes or simple white toast with lots of butter!
  • Pear & Cocoa Nib – Our latest creation inspired by our last trip to Paris! WARNING: High addiction alert!!
  • Green Tomato with Garam Masala - Use as a sweet condiment with spicy foods, such as samosas, or with scallops or goat cheese.
  • Heirloom Tomato & Chile – A daring combination of heat & sweet, baste over chicken thighs or serve with cream cheese.
  • Spiced Cranberry w/ Ice Wine - A holiday favorite! Perfect with Turkey and just as delicious over warm camembert.

Handcut Mango Lime Salsa - A nicely spiced blend of Mango, Lime & Cilantro, perfect with tortilla chips or over perfectly grilled halibut!

Handcut Heirloom Tomato Salsa - A chunky melange of over 10 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, make this a highly addictive salsa.
